At VNF our business is thinking of the future and we strive to ensure that we develop, retain and add to our high skill set. As a key part of this we offer an annual undergraduate internship.

This consists of a challenging and insightful 40+ weeks where successful candidates will form part of the design team and gain invaluable industrial skills and knowledge.

To integrate with our diverse and challenging roles we have defined a list of core competencies required from potential candidates and ask that only those who consider themselves suitable contact us.

What we expect from you:

  • Must be a second year Degree/HNC-D student seeking a placement to form their third year.

  • Must be able to demonstrate a professional level of 3D CAD modelling.

  • Must be logically and technically minded with a good eye for fine detail and quality.

  • Must be competent in engineering notation and have the ability to produce engineering drawings to a basic standard. 

  • Must be able to understand commercial requirements in a fast paced environment and be self disciplined.

What we can offer you:

  • Induction training for industry standard CATIA V5+ CAD software; learning to produce parts and assemble 3D models as well as giving a full appreciation of how to create engineering drawings to an industrial standard. 

  • The fundamental principles of Product and Mechanical design.

  • We will introduce you to various production and manufacturing techniques.

  • An understanding of optimum material properties dictated by the given application. 

  • We will provide the opportunity to attend site visits and engage with clients while viewing the projects you would have contributed to.
